THE Fiji Development Bank is confident that there will be more entries for its 2018 National Small and Medium Enterprise Awards compared with last year.

Board member and Sun Insurance managing director Inia Naiyaga launched the awards at the FDB head office in Suva this morning.

“Last year 13 businesses were awarded for their exceptional performance at the 2017 National SME Awards. These SMEs championed in their communities the creation of decent work, promoting financial inclusion and contributing to the national and global development agenda,” said Mr Naiyaga.

The theme for the 2018 awards is “Promoting inclusive green development for SMEs”.

Mr Naiyaga confirmed that 12 SMEs would be sharing $61,000 in prize money this year.

Application opens today and will close on January 4, 2019.
