2018 General Elections: Unity Fiji appeals FEO disqualification

THE Unity Fiji party will be appealing the decision by the Fijian Elections Office (FEO) in disqualifying three of its candidates nominated for the 2018 General Elections.

This was confirmed by its party leader Savenaca Narube, who said they were in the process of filing their appeal before the appeal and objection period closed at 4pm today.

He, however, could not reveal the grounds of appeal by the party and whether they were appealing the disqualification of all three candidates.

Any candidate who had not been approved by the FEO to contest the upcoming poll was given time till 4pm today to appeal the decision to the Electoral Commission.
