IT was a beautiful day for the villagers of Tabia in Navatu district, Cakaudrove, when they cast their votes today.

Village headman Ilaisa Ratavo said they had 76 registered voters.

“About three people did not turn up to vote. Two of them are elderly and one more we could not determine why the person failed to show up,” Mr Ratavo said.

He said within the first two hours, all the villagers had finished with the voting process.

The oldest person to vote in the village was a 65 year old.

The village is home to 20 households.

When a team from this newspaper visited the village, men were already indulging in kava on the village green.
