WALESI Disaraurau, 83, is relieved she has cast her vote.

The great-grandmother – originally of Wailevu East in Cakaudrove but married and reside at her husband’s village of Koibau, Korowiri, Labasa – has been looking forward to this day, like she has done in past national elections.

Ms Disaraurau left Koibau Village last night to spend the night at her relative’s home in Tuatua so she could visit her polling station at St Mary’s Anglican Primary School today.

Speaking in her dialect, she said she was adamant to reach her polling station today to cast her vote.

Ms Disaraurau is one of the 210 registered voters at this polling station.
