SOCIAL Democratic Liberal Party leader Sitiveni Rabuka has reminded his supporters who are Fijians of Indian descendants that they have played a major role in Fiji’s progress.

Speaking to his supporters at Tamavua Village in Naitasiri on Monday night, he said Fijians of Indian descent should be treated like family.

“They are considered as our brothers and sisters because they have played a role in Fiji’s success, while our forefathers were out fighting wars in various parts of the world to protect our country, they were the ones that stayed back and looked after our country,” Mr Rabuka said.

For iTaukeis, he said they always claimed patriotism for their nation but they failed to understand the act of patriotism by Fijians of Indian descendants and the sacrifices they had made for Fiji.
