DESPITE having plans to go fishing with a cousin today, Labasa mother of three Peniana Yaralai was inclined to cast her vote first before proceeding with the day’s plan.

Mrs Yaralai was among the first 50 voters to cast her ballot at the St Mary’s Primary School polling station as of 10am today.

She said she caught the morning bus from Tuatua to the polling station in anticipation of a long line, which she wanted to avoid.

“It feels good to vote and I know my vote is important.”
