THE blackout period  has been extended because the polling period has been extended as well.

Supervisor of Election Mohammed Saneem revealed this during a press brief this afternoon saying this was because polling in 23 voting venues had been closed today and registered voters on the said areas were left to cast their vote.

Mr Saneem also confirmed that voters from the 23 voting venues would also be given a date to cast their vote soon.
