A TOTAL of 5843 postal vote applications have been received by the Fijian Elections Office (FEO) as of 10am today.

THE FEO has reminded those intending to apply for postal voting that the deadline for submitting applications will be at 5pm tomorrow.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem said the FEO would not accept any postal voting application forms after 5pm.

“We must now ensure that the postal vote packages reach voters in a timely manner so as to allow them to cast their votes and return the envelopes to the FEO,” Mr Saneem said.

The FEO has already commenced dispatching postal voting packages to voters divided into the following regions: local, Pacific Island, Australia and New Zealand and rest of the world.

All postal voting packages are pre-paid and are being couriered as priority deliveries with marked postal votes must be returned to the FEO headquarters no later than 6pm on election day, November 14, 2018.
