2018 FMF Chow Games: Lautoka wins boys division

LAUTOKA was crowned the overall boys champions during the FMF National Chow Games at the ANZ Stadium in Suva this afternoon.

Lautoka won the overall boys title with 10 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 9 bronze medals.

Lautoka beat out Suva One who finished second with 9 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals.

Lautoka coach Domasiano Kalou said teamwork allowed them victory.

“We thank Lautoka City Council for allowing us to use the tracks at Churchill Park to train. “It greatly helped us in our win, and we will back stronger next year.”

Nadroga/Navosa finished third with 7 gold, 11 silver and 13 bronze medals.

In the girls division, Suva athletics took top honours with 10 gold, 9 silver and 7 bronze medals.

Lautoka placed second with 9 gold, 9 silver and 8 bronze, while Nadi finished third with 8 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze medals.

Meanwhile, Wallis & Futuna surprisingly scooped the U14 boys grade title.

The islanders set the lone record of the games through Liufau Mikaele in the under 14 shot-put boys with a throw of 16.51metres.
