2018 Courts IDC: Navua through to senior final

THE Navua football side is through to the final of the Courts Inter District Championship senior final after a come from behind 2-1 win over Tailevu Naitasiri today.

On a wet and soggy Fiji FA Academy Ground in Suva, Tailevu Naitasiri made a flying start with a goal from Meli Nagusudrau in the sixth minute.

Minutes later, Tailevu Naitasiri was awarded a penalty as Navua defender Seveci Rokotakala handled the ball inside his penalty box.

Roenil Ram’s penalty was stopped by Navua stopper Viliame Sivo.

Netani Doli equalised for Navua in the injury time of the first spell as both the teams rested 1-all at half-time.

The half-time score remained to be the full time score as the match went into extra time.

Munit Chand scored the winner in the first spell of extra time.

This will be Navua’s fourth final in four years.

The second semi-final between defending champions Nadroga and Lami is underway now.
