IT has been 23 long years since the last time the Suva football side and its fans tasted victory at the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants football tournament.

The whites defeated Navua 2-1 in the 1995 final.

Some of the players in the current squad were not even born when Suva last lifted the BOG title.

The whites have faced goal scoring issues this season but they seem to have found a solution to that, netting six times against Dreketi, twice against Nadi and one against Rewa in the pool stage last weekend.

New coach, Gurjit Singh also seems to have had a positive impact on the team making tactical changes when it matters the most.

Experienced players of Rumeru Takiate, Waisea Navunigasau, Sahil Dave and Bruce Hughes will lead the whites charge against Labasa in the semi-final tomorrow.

The whites face Labasa at 2pm at Churchill Park after which Ba takes on Nadi at 4pm.

The final kicks off at 3pm on Sunday.
