FIREWORKS are expected when the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants semi-finals kicks off at Churchill Park in Lautoka this Saturday.

All four semi-finalists have suffered defeat in the pool stages, a clear indication of how the first stage of the tournament was.

Suva and Labasa suffered losses on day one while Ba and Nadi were lost on the final day but thanks to their goal differences they pulled through.

If the pool stage is anything to go by, expect bigger and better games in the finals.

There were 33 goals scored in 12 matches, averaging close to three goals a match.

Ba will have the services of striker Samuela Nabenia, who returns from a three match suspension, while Maveliko Nakama misses out on the finals after copping a red card in the last pool match against Lautoka and will miss two matches.

Labasa’s Jale Dreloa will also sit out the semi-final after copping two yellow cards in the pool stages. He will be available to play if Labasa reaches the final.

The first semi-final kicks off at 2pm in which Suva battles Labasa while the second semi-final sees Ba playing Nadi at 4pm.

The final kicks off at 3pm on Sunday.
