ONE of the highlights in the Fiji Fashion Week Campaign this year will be the return of Laisiasa Davetawalu who will showcase his new spring summer 2020 collection.

Davetawalu is returning from Sydney, Australia, after completing his Bachelor of Fashion Design.

He was the winner of the FJFW student designer of the year in 2016, which was his second year presenting capsule collection as a student designer.

Davetawalu has also completed his Certificate III and Certificate IV in Applied Fashion Technology.

Meanwhile, FJFW managing director Ellen Whippy-Knight said tickets are selling well and organisers are confident of a full house this Friday and Saturday.

She said the show would present a mix of 14 emerging and established designers on both nights.

Ms Whippy-Knight said showing alongside our local designers is a unique line of international guests from Australia, China, India, Indonesia, New Zealand and Tokelau. She added that patrons would be pleasantly surprised to see Mr Davetawalu’s new spring summer 2020 collection.

“I believe he will be the first designer from Fiji to ever produce such works,” she said. Tickets to the event are still available at MHCC.
