Vision Investments Ltd handed over laundry equipment worth $20,000 to the Ministry of Health this week to show their support for the work done by the front liners in the fight against COVID-19.

Minister for Health Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete said: “It should be very useful to the patients we look after and also the work that we do and also grateful for the hard work our front liners have been doing.

“They are here with us, behind me here, as members of FEMAT and also looking after the intermediate care facilities over the last few months and staying away from home. Some of them have been affected by the virus and able to come back and help us in the front line and this just goes to show the compassion and commitment that our people have”.

“So we are very thankful for this and we are also thankful that we can come today and see that the business community is actually beginning to work in the new normal, the public health safe message that you have in place, contact tracing app, the fact that you got the physical distancing, the staff that are wearing the mask and the people that are coming through.”

Courts chief marketing officer Anil Senewiratne said the items consisted of 2x Maytag and LG commercial washers, 2x LG commercial dryer, 2x Smart Appliance water urn, 1x Stihl commercial water blaster and 1x Stihl vacuum cleaner.

“The donation from Vision Investments Ltd trading as Courts is to assist MOH’s mitigation phase of activities through from Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Coordination Centre (PHECCC) to ensure high risk groups are provided access to medical attention early before they develop severe COVID infection, in minimising the deaths in communities as well as the continued spread of COVID-19 within communities.

“Today we have the freedom of movement. “Let’s do our part by getting vaccinated, protect yourself, your family, and our beautiful nation Fiji so that we all can get back to our normal lives even better,” said Mr Senewiratne.
