FIJI Swimming is all ready to host the Long Course Nationals tomorrow that will feature 282 swimmers from 14 clubs in Fiji, Australia, Tonga, and Vanuatu.
Fiji Swimming general manager David Dugucanavanua said the event would be the last official national competition before the Pacific Games where national reps would be able to challenge themselves with other international swimmers.
“It is exciting that we have a few teams from abroad who are bringing with them a sense of competition for our national athletes who are preparing for the Pacific Games.
“We don’t know the time and capabilities of these swimmers coming from abroad and that gives us an element of suspense where we wouldn’t know where we are at till we compete with the outsiders,” said Dugucanavanua.
The nationals will begin tomorrow for three days at the Damodar City Aquatic Centre.
