$2 million boost for micro and small business sector

THE Government of India today handed over a $2 million cheque to Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama which will assist the Fijian Government in its bid to further improve the livelihoods of every Fijian.

has vowed to continue its assistance towards micro and small business entrepreneurs.

Indian High Commissioner to Fiji, Padmaja who handed over the cheque for the micro and small business sector in Fiji.

Mr Bainimarama thanked the Government of India for the kind gesture, adding the donation would certainly make waves on the lives of some ordinary Fijians.

“The Indian Prime Minister Hon. Narendra Modi, during his State visit to Fiji in November 2014, pledged to assist Fiji in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector with US$5 million,” Mr Bainimarama said.
