$1m allocated for Korea and South Pacific pilot project

THE Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Premila Kumar discussed the possibility of a preferential trade agreement between Fiji and Korea to enhance bilateral relations while receiving the Korean Ambassador to Fiji Cho Shin-hee last week,

Ms Kumar said this would enable preferential access of niche and high-end Fijian products such as organic ginger, cosmetic and mineral water to enter the Korean market.

Whilst responding, Ms Cho Shin-hee said the potential of having enhanced economic relations between the two countries.

She also informed the Minister of the upcoming promotional project, which is the Korea and South Pacific pilot project.

The project which will include seminars, workshops and expos within Korea and the South Pacific region, will be funded by the Korean Government.

A total of $1 million has been allocated for this project.
