15 lay members join Methodist Church ministry

Update: 12:45PM Fourteen lay members of the Methodist Church have been accepted into the ministry of the church during yesterday’s annual Methodist Church Conference in Suva.
Church secretary for communication and overseas mission Reverend James Bhagwan
said the decision was made during the ministerial session where successful candidates
were approved to become ministers on probation.
said majority of the probationers would be sent to the Davuilevu
Theological College for ministerial information, while those with prior
theological training will be stationed in church appointment. They will
be eligible for ordination in 2021.
Meanwhile, a Ministerial session, held earlier in the week, had accepted 15
ministers for ordination, following six years of probation spent between
ministerial training and field work. Two of the 15 are women ministers.
