$14k worth of literacy and numeracy resources donated by Australia

LITERACY and numeracy resources valued at $14,000 was donated today by the Australian Government that will benefit students in Year 1-4.
Australian High Commissioner to Fiji, John Feakes, in handing over the resources, said literacy and numeracy skills are universally identified as pre-requisites for education and learning.
While receiving the resources, Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts, Allison Burchell said “we have to ensure that fundamental building blocks are in place.”
“It’s all about comprehension, because if you are not literate and numerate then you are not going to learn other subjects,” Ms Burchell said.
