THIRTEEN kilograms of grog and chasers were among the many items stolen in a break-in at a shop in Nadi back road in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Shop owner Vijay Singh expressed his disappointment at the recent incident and hoped something would be done to address this issue.

He alleged thieves broke into his shop at 3am.

“This is not the first time thieves entered my shop and I am worried about my business because this is the third time my shop has been broken into,” Mr Singh said.

“But this time, it is really disappointing because it happened during curfew hours, at a time when we think no one is moving around.

“We are not safe anymore and I am really worried about my business.”

Mr Singh said another four shops were also broken into on the same building.

He added the Nadi police were alerted and they had taken statements.

The Malolo, Nadi businessman also hoped the culprits would be taken to task.

“We are already struggling to keep our business afloat and this is happening again to us.

“It is my plea to people to stop doing these kinds of things because we are also trying to provide for our families and sustain our business.”

Mr Singh claimed $2700 worth of items were stolen during the break-in. Police investigations continue.
