118 participants for South Pacific junior tennis championships

SOME of the world’s best junior tennis players are battling it out for the top honours in this year’s ITF South Pacific Open Junior Championships held at the Regional Tennis Centre at Nadovu, Lautoka.
Highest ranked junior boy from India Maan Shah is one of the top contenders for the top award while Carol Lee of Northern Mariana Islands is tipped to take out the girls’ title.
The event has attracted 118 participants (51 boys and 65 girls) from 18 countries which is a record number of girl’s entries for a junior event in Fiji.
Fiji is well represented with both Saoirse Breen and Ruby Coffin competing for the girls singles while Charles Cornish out to stamp his mark in the junior boys singles.
The event started on Monday and will end on Sunday.
