THE Japanese Government provided funding worth $853,657 to four schools and $201,653 to Habitat for Humanity Fiji.

Japan’s Ambassador to Fiji Masahiro Omura today signed five grant contracts with respective representatives to formalize Japan’s assistance during a signing ceremony held at the Japanese Embassy in Suva today.

The four schools receiving these grants include Adi Cakobau School, Naivicula District School, Sigatoka District School and Tagaqe District School.

Mr Omura said the projects would be funded through Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) programme.

The assistance is part of the Japanese Government’s on-going support towards Fiji’s education sector and assistance for access to clean water.
