100 NRL games for big Sivo

Paramatta Eels club cult Maika Sivo will play in his 100th National Rugby League (NRL) match when he runs out on the wing for the Sydney surburb side against the New Zealand Warriors today.

Sivo is the NRL’s equal leading try-scorer with 16 tries this season alongside Newcastles Knights’ Dominic Young.

The 29-year-old Sivo, from Momi Village in Nadroga, has scored 46 tries in his past 53 games since the start of 2021.

On March 1 this year, Sivo signed a contract extension to remain at Parramatta until the end of 2025.

Fiji Bati utility Isaac Lumelume is on the other wing for the Eeels.

Warriors winger and fellow Bati speedster Marcelo Montoya will have the daughting task of marking Sivo.

Montoya has scored six tries this season.

In other round 19 matches, former Fiji Bati Taane Milne will run at centre for the Sydney Rabbitohs in their match against the Canterbury Bulldogs.

Brandon Wakeham and the Tigers lost to the Cronulla Sharks 12-36, while Mikaele Ravalawa was on the wing for the St George Illawarra Dragons when they played the Canbrerra Raiders last night.
