THREE new schools are expected to be built around Viti Levu after the United Arab Emirates adopted the schools by investing $US5 million ($F10.6m).
The United Arab Emirates have signed a memorandum of understanding of co-operation agreement with Fiji yesterday.
United Arab Emirates head of mission, Saleh Ahmed Alsuwaidi said education was very important for the future of any country and therefore based on the special partnership with Fiji they had invested to build schools.
He adds that they are happy to be part of this noble project and acknowledged the government.
Mr Alsuwaidi said the technical teams would be visiting the three sites today.
He adds that building new schools is a positive decision and it will help the students in this areas.
The first school which is Ratu Simione Matanitobua College will be in Navua, the second school is Sigatoka Methodist College and the third school is Lautoka Mission College.
Construction works for the three new schools are expected to start mid next year.
