$1.7m paid out under Fiji Care Bundled insurance package

A TOTAL of $1.7million has been paid out in insurance under the Fiji Care Bundled Insurance Package as of January this year.

This was confirmed by Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa in Parliament earlier in the week.

She said those assisted under the scheme included 14 fire victims, 301 life insurance and 760 funeral assistance.

“The Fiji Care Bundled Insurance Package provides life insurance coverage for all Social Protection Program recipients receiving under the Ministry’s Social Protection Programs; the Poverty Benefit Scheme, Care and Protection Allowance, Social Pension Scheme and the Disability Allowance Scheme,” Mrs Vuniwaqa said.

“This coverage commenced from 1st August, 2018, where Government paid Fiji Care Insurance the premium for this Insurance Bundled Package for and on behalf of all social protection allowances beneficiaries.”
