THE Accident Compensation Commission Fiji (ACCF) has paid out $1,683,000 in compensation for motor vehicle accidents since January 1, 2019.

According to statistics provided by the ACCF yesterday, so far this year the commission has received 300 applications out of which 234 are for injuries caused by motor vehicle accidents and 37 applications for death caused by motor vehicle accidents (out of which 22 have been paid).

ACCF chief executive officer Parvez Akbar highlighted the statistics at the ACCF information session to members of the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation.

Mr Akbar said of the total applications received, 29 were declined because of exclusions.
