Zheng to promote Fiji in the Chinese market

TO promote Fiji as a tourist destination in the country’s fourth biggest visitor market, China, Tourism Fiji has appointed a new regional manager to be based in Shanghai.
Vincent Zheng, the former regional marketing manager for China and Southeast Asia for American Airlines, takes up this role effective from April 4.
According to Tourism Fiji, Mr Zheng was born in China and acquired his Master Degree in Business Management from Europe and was well-versed in the travel industry.
Prior to his role at American Airlines, Mr Zheng held other senior leadership roles at companies including Texas Tourism Office, Choose Chicago, San Diego Tourism Authority and Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau.
He has experience in fields like sales, marketing, public relations, social media, advertising, creative, communications, events, government relations and operations.
Tourism Fiji CEO Matthew Stoeckel said China was Fiji’s fourth largest market.
“The establishment of an office in Shanghai and Vincent’s appointment will enable Tourism Fiji to work more closely with our trade and deliver marketing promotional activities to drive visitation to Fiji,” he said.
“We are delighted to welcome Vincent to our growing team. We’re excited about what can be achieved in China under Vincent’s experienced leadership,” Mr Zheng said.
