Update: 1:15PM YOUTHS of the Holy Trinity Anglican Cathedral commemorated Easter yesterday by walking around their church to re-enact the 14 stations of the Cross.
President of the Youth, Ani Nayacalevu said since their youth camp this year was female dominant they couldnt re-enact the Crucifixion of Christ.
So normally every year our youth does a drama on the crucifixion of Jesus Christ but this year we were short on man-power, Ms Nayacalevu said.
Since our youth camp this year is mainly dominated by females we werent able to do that instead we replaced that with the 14 stations of the cross where we went around the church commemorating different parts that led up to the crucifixion and just blessing the church.
With over 20 members attending their Youth Camp ranging from 11-30 years of age, Ms Nayacalevu added their aim was to teach their members on the importance of Easter.
For the youth members its just about getting them to realize the importance of Easter in our Christian Faith, she said.
One of our main messages is actually our theme for our youth camp this year which is taken from Galatians 5:22 which is the Fruits of the Spirit which refers to how we treat each other, we must do so with kindness, love, patience, self-control which are some of the things young people fail to show nowadays.
