YOUTHS play a vital role in combating the issue of climate change.

This was a comment highlighted by PHD student in Geography and the Environment at the University of Oxford in England, Liam Saddington while presenting on climate change at the University of South Pacific (USP) at the Laucala Campus in Suva yesterday.

“Youths are really important because they will set the frontline for years to come and even when they enter other sectors they can always be thinking of climate change,” he said.

“I think it is really important that we have allowed youths’ voice to be on a national and an international stage when it comes to climate change.”

He said with the issue of climate change, using energy wisely was one way of how we in the Pacific could practice to curb the effects of climate change and live in a more sustainable manner.
