THE International Yoga Day will be held in selected locations in the three divisions around the country with an aim to prevent and fight diabetes.
India’s High Commissioner to Fiji Vishvas Sapkal said yoga provided a holistic approach to health and well-being.
He urged for a wider dissemination of information about the benefits of practicing yoga for the health of the world population.
Mr Sapkal said yoga was an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition.
“This year, our focus is following yoga for preventing and fighting diabetes,” he said.
He said the International Yoga Day would also be celebrated in six Pacific island countries – Kiribati, Nauru, Tonga, Tuvalu, Cook Islands and Fiji.
