XAVIER College has sent a stern warning to other top schools in the country after being crowned the undisputed champion of the Coca-Cola Ba Zone meet which ended at Lautoka’s Churchill Park yesterday.

The school won the boys, girls and overall titles outclassing the other eight schools to win the zone meet.

The boys won 30 gold while the girls secured 17 for their titles.

Kamil Muslim College settled for the second spot with nine gold, 11 silver and seven bronze medals edging Khalsa College which finished with nine gold, six silver and 10 bronze medals.

Zone president Hussain Shah said Xavier had once again proved they had what it took at to make it big at this year’s Coke Games.

He said the school, like all other participating schools, had prepared well for the zone meet.

“Xavier is the king of athletics in Ba and they have done it again in 2018 and we know they will do well in Suva,” said Shah.

“But all other schools really prepared well and we had a successful two days of exciting competition.

“This is a historic occasion for us to come to Lautoka and try out the new synthetic track.”

He said they managed to unearth new talents during the two days of competition.

“In the name of development, we have exposed our students to the tracks to get good competition and we managed to unearth hidden talents.”

“Looking at the competition and the event time it shows there is much improvement of what we used to have in Ba in previous years,” he added.
