World Rugby names 7s series

WORLD Rugby has announced the new season of the World Rugby Sevens Series where Fiji is regarded as the best drawcard.

The series still has 10 tournaments, which are expected to have an increased fan base after recording 120 million video viewers worldwide in the past series.

Fiji finished second behind South Africa.

The series will start in Dubai on November 30 and ends in Paris next June 2.

The 2019 series will be the qualification for 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and the women’s series will be increased to six rounds. USA Rugby Union hosts the new opening round in Glendale, Colorado, on October 20-21.

Colorado, USA – Oct 20-21, 2018. Dubai – Nov 29-30, 2018. Sydney, Aust – Feb 1-3, 2019. Japan – April 20-21, 2019. Langford, Canada – May 11-12, 2019. Paris, France – May 31 – June 3, 2019.

Men:

Dubai 7s – Nov 30 – Dec 1, 2018. South Africa 7s – Dec 8-9, 2018. Hamilton, NZ 7s – Jan 26-27, 2019. Sydney, Aust 7s – 2-3 February, 2019. Las Vegas, USA 7s – March 2-3, 2019. Vancouver, Canada 7s – March 9-10, 2019. Hong Kong 7s – April 6-7. Singapore 7s – April 13-14, London 7s – May 25-26. France 7s – June 1-2.
