Women want to be part of village meetings

WOMEN of Seaqaqa yesterday told the district meeting that village leaders should always inform them about district and village meetings.

The plea follows concerns that women leaders have been forgotten and not informed about such meetings in the past.

Speaking on behalf of the women’s association, Arieta Samosi said she only found out about yesterday’s meeting from a relative.

She questioned the district leaders on channels that were followed to inform reps of district meetings. Mrs Samosi pleaded with the district leaders to ensure that all reps and groups are to be informed so they could attend the meeting.

She added that such meetings were very important and provided a platform for women, youths and village headmen to raise their issues.
