Update: 6:28PM DEPUTY director for technical training at the Fiji National University’s (FNU) National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC) Peni Taoi is encouraging women to join the trade industry.
Mr Taoi says there is a career for women in the trade industry because women are experienced in managing tasks.
He said the interest by women to join the trade industry was very limited and the industry needed more than that.
“Only a handful of females are interested in joining the trade industry. Women are very good at handling tasks and this is something that can provide ladies with new opportunities in the trade sectors,” Mr Taoi said.
He added men must move away from having the thought of working in a ‘male dominant’ area and should remind themselves to include women in the trade industry.
