Woman to take plea

AN estate officer of the Fiji Public Trustee Corporation (FPTC) will take her plea next month.
Melaia Senimolau, who is charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) with 16 counts of obtaining financial advantage, appeared before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili yesterday.
It is alleged that on 16 separate occasions, Ms Senimolau provided false FPTC receipts and false FPTC bill of costs as receipts to obtain a financial advantage of $18,929.50.
FICAC counsel Jessie Lagonilakeba informed the court that the first phase disclosures were already served to the accused.
The accused was released on bail after she provided two sureties in court and strict bail conditions was also imposed. A stop departure for Ms Senimolau was also issued.
Ms Senimolau will reappear in court on April 4.
