BUSINESSES from parts of the Western Division are in Lautoka today for an awareness session organised by the Consumer Council of Fiji.

While opening the meeting, Consumer Council senior manager corporate Bindula Prasad said in an expanding economy like Fiji’s, the market was indulged in a fierce competition to attract customers.

“We are served with a myriad of options for every product and service,” Ms Prasad said.

“To protect the rights and interests of consumers, we have pieces of consumer protection laws in place. These rights are there to make sure that consumers get products and services worth their money.”

The objective of the meeting was to promote consumer solidarity in the Western Division.
