West must remain vigilant

Update: 6:23PM ALL communities living in flood prone and low lying areas are reminded to take all necessary precaution and remain vigilant.
A Government statement issued this afternoon says Tropical Cyclone Josie (TC Josie) maintains its intensity as Category 1 cyclone as it tracks south southeast away from the Group.
Over the last 24 hours, it has slowed down in its movement and moving towards unfavourable environmental conditions and expected to weaken.
Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure that lies to the north of Fiji and expected to drift over the Group as TC Josie moves south-eastwards.
The Fiji Meteorological Service in Nadi will continue monitoring the situation closely and any alert and warning will be issued as and when necessary.
Members of the public are advised to remain updated with the latest weather information and take alerts and warnings seriously.
