Well done Tahiti

IT is a proud moment for the Pacific as Tahiti carved its name into beach football history with their brave performance amid professional players to reach the finals of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
They beat a powerhouse of football, Italy in the semi-finals.
Tahiti made their first appearance at the World Cup in 2011 and failed to make the play-offs.
In 2013, they hosted the event and finished fourth.
In just four years they progressed into the finals of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
This is a great achievement.
It is indeed the result of serious involvement of Tahiti Football administrators into the development of this sport.
In contrast, Fiji is surrounded by luxury beaches but where are we in terms of development of beach soccer?
I believe the reality is Fiji football is in huge debit in terms of development of soccer.
