Weather watch: Trough of low pressure to affect group

A TROUGH of low pressure lies slow moving to the southwest of Fiji.

The weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 3:30pm today says the trough of low pressure is expected to gradually move towards the group and affect the country from later tonight till Monday.

The forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group expect cloudy periods with some showers over Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, the eastern parts and interior of the larger islands, Lau and the Lomaiviti group.

It will be fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers elsewhere.

There will be moderate to fresh east to southeast winds with winds becoming predominantly easterly from later tomorrow. And also moderate to rough seas.

As for the outlook for Monday the weatherman says there will be cloudy periods with some showers over the eastern parts and interior of the larger islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group.

It will be fine apart from afternoon or evening showers elsewhere.
