Weather watch: Strong wind warning for Fiji

A STRONG wind warning remains in force for all land areas of Fiji.

The weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 10:45am this morning says a high pressure system to the far south of Fiji directs a strong southeast wind flow over the group.

The forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group the weatherman says there will be strong southeast winds with average speed of 45km/hr and gusts to 55km/hr.

Expect rough to very rough seas and cloudy periods with brief showers over the eastern parts and the interior of the larger islands.

However winds will be easing to moderate to fresh southeast winds later tomorrow.
