A TROUGH of low pressure with cloud and showers remains slow moving over the northern parts of Fiji.

This was confirmed in a weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi today.

The weatherman says the trough of low pressure is expected to move northwards away from the group later today.

However, a high pressure to the far south of Fiji continues to direct a cool southeasterly wind flow over the group.

As for the forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group, expect occasional showers with isolated heavy falls about Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands and northern Lau group.

Showers expected to ease from later today and cloudy periods with brief showers about the eastern and interior parts of other larger islands.

Elsewhere, it will be mainly fine and generally cool at night.
