THE Fiji Meteorological Service says a trough of low pressure just to the north of Fiji is gradually moving over the group.

Associated cloud and rain is expected to affect the country until early Friday morning.

Meanwhile, another trough of low pressure extending from the West to the South of Fiji is anticipated to intensify and move towards the group and affect the country in the weekend.

Fiji Meteorology director Ravind Kumar said people living in flood-prone areas should remain vigilant because of the amount of rainfall that both systems are expected to bring.
