A DAMAGING HEAVY SWELL WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE LOW LYING
COASTAL AREAS OF SOUTHERN VITI-LEVU, KADAVU, BEQA, VATULELE AND
NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS, MAMANUCA, SOUTHERN LAU GROUPS. For more

SITUATION: A high pressure together to the far southwest of Fiji is
expected to generate and direct heavy swells over the southern low
lying coastal areas of Fiji today. Meanwhile, A frontal system lies
slow moving just to the south of Fiji. Associated cloud and showers
affects the southern parts of Fiji.
Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:
Occasional showers over Kadavu, Lau and Lomaiviti Groups, the
interior and eastern parts of the larger islands. Elsewhere, fine
apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate east to southeast winds.
Moderate to rough seas.
Heavy swells over low lying coastal areas of Southern Viti Levu,
Kadavu, Beqa, Vatulele and nearby smaller islands, Mamanuca and
southern Lau groups.

Outlook for TUESDAY : Occasional showers over the western parts of
Fiji becoming frequent and spreading over the rest of the group later
in the day.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori :
Occasional showers.
Outlook for TUESDAY : Occasional showers.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba :
Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms.
Outlook for TUESDAY : Occasional showers.

For Labasa :
Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms.
Outlook for TUESDAY : Afternoon or evening showers.

For Savusavu : Occasinal showers.
Outlook for TUESDAY : Occasional showers.

For Rotuma :
Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.
Moderate easterly winds.
Moderate seas. Moderate southerly swells.

A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR KADAVU AND VATU-I-RA
PASSAGES AND IS NOW IN FORCE FOR THE SOUTHERN LAU GROUP AND SOUTHERN
KORO SEA. A DAMAGING HEAVY SWELL WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR
SOUTHWEST VITI LEVU, MAMANUCA, SOUTHERN LAU WATERS, SOUTHERN KORO SEA
AND KADAVU PASSAGE.

Situation:
An intense high pressure system to the far southwest of Fiji
generates and directs moderate to heavy swells over Fiji waters.

Forecast to 6am tomorrow for Fiji waters:
For Southern Lau waters, Southern Koro Sea, Kadavu and Vatu-i-Ra
Passages:

East to southeast winds 20 to 25 knots. Rough seas.

Moderate
southerly swells over vatu-I-Ra Passage. Heavy Southerly swells over
Kadavu Passage, Southern Lau Waters and Southern Koro sea.

Further outlook: East to southeast winds 20 to 25 knots. Rough seas.

Moderate to heavy southerly swells.

For the rest of Fiji Waters:
East to southeast winds 15 to 20 knots. Moderate to rough seas. Heavy
southerly swells over Southwest Viti Levu, Mamanuca. Elsewhere,
Moderate southerly swells.

Further Outlook: East to southeast winds 15 to 20 knots. Moderate
to rough seas. Moderate to heavy southerly swells.
