Water situation: Public advisory for Flagstaff residents
17 March, 2018, 1:53 pm
Update: 1:53PM RESIDENTS living within the elevated areas of Flagstaff will be experiencing low water pressure to no water until tomorrow evening, March 18, 2018.
A statement issued by the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) says the low pressure situation in water supply is as a
result of electrical failure in Waila Water Treatment Plant causing tripping of
three clear water pumps.
“The repair has been completed
and the Treatment Plant is back in normal operation,” WAF said.
“However, the supply is
affected due to low water levels in our clear water reservoirs as a result of
reduction of water production during the shutdown period as well as due to the
high consumption pattern associated with current weather.”
Meanwhile, water carts will be
on standby to service the affected areas as and when the need arises.
