PULSE Energy Highlanders winger, Tevita Nabura says Fijian Super Rugby fans should expect to see Waisake Naholo at one of his best performances when he faces the Gallagher Chiefs on Saturday at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
Naholo, an All Black, and Nabura’s Highlanders host the Chiefs in round 17 of the Super Rugby season.
Nabura, who arrived with teammates Patelesio Tomkinson and Joshua Dickson, a former New Zealand under-20 lock, yesterday said the Highlanders had been preparing well for the match.
He said Naholo was looking forward to playing at home. “Naholo is excited to play on Saturday because he will be playing in front of his families and friends,” Nabura said.
“He said he wanted to make it special by showing a different class of performance. I ask all Fijians to get behind the boys and cheer them on Saturday.”
Nabura, Tomkinson and Dickson were traditionally welcomed by the Fiji Sports Council staff yesterday.
They met and were greeted by fans at the Damodar City Centre at Laucala Bay.
They will be involved in various promotional programs before the game. Highlanders marketing manager Amanda Gould said: “Over the past couple of months, we’ve been having chats on this trip and the team is eager to meet Fijian fans.”
“This match is important to us because we owe Naholo and Nabura this home game since they’ve been playing a big part in the Highlanders team. That is why we wanted to bring one of our games in Fiji.”
The match will kick off at 7.35pm.
Tickets are sold at the Fiji Sports Council office in Suva, and Post Fiji outlets around the country.
Prices: Grandstand: $140 (gold), $160 (red), $180 (platinum). Embankment: $30 (concrete), $20 (grass). The Chiefs team is expected to arrive at Nausori International Airport at 12.55pm tomorrow.
Naholo and the Highlanders are billed to land at Nausori on Thursday at 4.15pm.
