FOR a week now, we have highlighted the environmental devastation in areas of the Wainisavulevu weir.

Discussions majorly surrounded arguments on the raising of the weir by 8m as according to what Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said back in 2015, or by 6m as claimed by Energy Fiji Ltd in a press conference on Monday this week.

In today’s edition (Saturday, August 4, 2018), The Fiji Times brings to you exclusively EFL’s admittance that the Wainisavulevu weir was in fact raised by 8m.

EFL reveals that the project involved raising the concrete spillway.
