RESIDENTS of Korolevu Bila settlement in Sigatoka gave 15 cartons of clothes to the family who were left homeless after their abode in Howell Rd in Suva was engulfed by flames last Tuesday.
A member of the settlement, Vilikesa Nasivi, drove from Sigatoka to present the clothes to the family who are now living in a tent.
“I really feel sorry for what happened and they asked for help and I told them not to worry that I will bring help for them,” Mr Nasivi said.
He then returned to Bila settlement and informed the villagers of the families’ plight after which they agreed to give clothes.
Mr Nasivi told The Fiji Times that he had no relationship whatsoever with the family but he felt obliged to help.
Mr Nasivi has also volunteered to give pots and plates to the families.
After Mr Nasivi had made his presentation, Minister for Women and Children Rosy Akbar stopped by with a basket full of gifts as well.
