Veteran 7s pair Roko, Vucago steer Nailega to Uluinakau 7s win

THE Nailega Blues 7s team was crowned the new Uluinakau 7s champion after defeating Congo Waimanu 24-19 in the main final at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori, last evening.

The team is made up of Tabadamu players.

The players were sensational in scoring their three tries in the first half.

Former national 7s rep Nasoni Roko led by example scoring a try with the help of former national teammate Emosi Vucago.

In the first-half, Nailega Blues led 17-5, Waimanu hit back with two tries in the second spell.

Nailega captain Luke Lutunavanua said this was a great platform for them to test their skills before the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament this week.

“We wanted to test our game plan in order to win the title this year.’

Nailega defeated Providers 26-0 in the cup quarter-finals and thrashed Army Green 19-0 in the semi-finals.
