LANKY Josua Vakurinabili has set his focus in fulfilling his ultimate dream of representing the country at the Sevens Rugby World Cup in San Francisco, US, next month. The Vatukarasa, Nadroga native was one of the Fiji Airways Fiji 7s finds of the season after helping the national side to win a record five HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series tournaments this season. The Fiji Corrections Service officer said the exposure at the world 7s series had inspired him to chase his world cup dream. He said the competition for the final 12 spot would be tough. Vakurinabuli will battle for a forward spot against big names such as Leone Nakarawa, Isake Katonibau, Semi Kunatani, Jasa Veremalua, Paula Dranisinukula, Kalione Nasoko, Sevuloni Mocenacagi and Mesulame Kunavula. “It is going to be a tough tussle, but I will not lose hope,” said Vakurinabili. “‘I have learned a lot from this year’s 7s series and I will work hard to fulfil my dream. There are many good and experienced forwards in the team and their presence will motivate me to work hard. I know it is difficult, but nothing is impossible if you work hard.” Vakurinabuli and his Fiji 7s teammates will march back into camp for the world cup preparation next week.
