EMPLOYMENT Minister Jone Usumate says inconsistent and delayed assessments by doctors have partially contributed to delays in resolving compensation cases.

Mr Usamate highlighted this while officiating at the Fiji Impairment Assessment Phase 1 training for medical professions from the West, the Northern division, Central and Eastern Division and as well those practioners from the private sector at the Holiday Inn in Suva today.

He reiterated that the Worker’s Compensation Reform was aimed at providing the basic social protection and strengthening the national social security system with a ‘no-fault’ social insurance scheme together with plans on rehabilitation and a return to work program to boost productivity.

The workshop ends on Friday.
